A Farewell to Native University

The grand meeting devoted to 49^th doctors’ graduation from the medical faculty of Ternopil State Medical University named after I.Ya. Horbachevsky took place in the Palace of Culture “Berezil”.

High school graduates with festive mood and appearance, the teaching staff of our university and guests became the participants of the crowded and outstanding event full of touching moments.

Honorary Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, D.Sc., Professor Leonid Yakymovych Kovalchuk congratulated graduating seniors , delivered a warm speech and wished everybody the realization of their life plans, fruitful achievements in difficult but magnanimous and noble work.

The order about awarding the status of doctor was announced by vice dean of the Medical faculty, assistant professor A. Bedenyuk.

Honours diplomas were present to the best graduating students by rector. The rest of students received their diplomas from their deans – A. Shulgai, M. Korda.

The climax of the occasion was solemn swearing of Hippocratic Oath. It was announced in two languages: doctor Diana Tcetnar swore an oath in Ukrainian and the foreign student Muchuntkhan Muruhan performed it in English.

One could hear the winning sounds of students’ hymn Gaudeamus, a plenty of touching words and applauses. Medical graduates’ faces had been beaming with happy smiles all the evening.

Young doctors were greeted by the professor V. Hoshchynsky. The words of sheer gratitude from students were said by Petro Soba. “Graduates today” and “doctors tomorrow” realized that their main professional goal is to serve humanity.
