International practice of students of I.Ya. Horbachevsky
Ternopil State Medical University
in the Vienna General Hospital (Austria).
In February, two students of I.Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical
University took part in an international exchange program of medical students,
which was at the University General Hospital in Vienna (AKH-Wien). VI year
student of medical faculty Taras Lysyy did his clinical practice in cardio
surgery department and II year student
of faculty of dentistry Natalia Zaskotska in department of maxillofacial
surgery.
During
working in the departments our students got new knowledge and practical skills,
observed the work of foreign doctors, was participating in morning meetings and
actively assisted in operations.

The
students of Ternopil State Medical University with Univ. Prof. Dr. Ihor Huk on
the front of Vienna General Hospital - AKH (Allgemeines Krankenhaus der Stadt
Wien - Universitatskliniken).

The new Vienna General Hospital, built on an
area of approx.
building” and two ward towers, the South Garden departments
and several annexes. The two-storey entrance building houses offices and a
generously designed entrance hall featuring numerous service facilities. The
main building consists of an 11-storey flat building and, on top of it, two
14-storey ward towers (including 8 floors for technical facilities) — the Green
Tower and the Red Tower. The Green Tower accommodates the surgical departments,
while the Red Tower houses the departments of internal medicine.
In total there are working more than ten
thousand professionals. There's two thousand equipped double rooms, 200
operating, numerous cafes and shops for staff and patients, all information you
can get in information center near main
entrance.
