Ternopil state medical university is a participant of an International Programme of the bronchial asthma's epidemiological researches among child population (BUPAS)

The first meeting (sitting) of the project working group composed of the professor Yan Zeyda (a leader of the project), Gregor Brozek (a representative of Poland), the professors Olga Fedortsiv and Leonid Hreshchuk (representatives of Ukraine), a head doctor of the Grodno regional children's clinical hospital Andriy Stryzhak and doctor of medical sciences, the head of sports medicine and rehabilitation department Andriy Spakov (a representative of Belarus). It took place in Krakiv in December, 17-20, 2009.

In December of 2009, the possibility of collaboration between the researchers of Medical university of Silesia (Katovitse, Polish republic), I. Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil state medical university and Grodno Medical University (Belorus) was discussed at the international symposium “Immunopathology of the respiratory diseases” and the VIth Ukrainian-Polish conference “Actual problems of pulmonology”, which took place in the congress-center “Chervona kalyna (Red guelder rose)”. As a result, it was arranged to make the project of large East-European countries such as Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus – BUPAS (BelarusUkrainePoland – Asthma – Study).

In December, 17-20, 2009, the problems of the questioning's arrangement at the schools of villages and cities, the preparation of the appropriate documents and data processing were discussed at the meeting in Krakiv.

We hope, that the results of the project will allow to get objective information  concerning the morbidity and the spreadness of bronchial asthma among child population in three countries, to find out the possible risk factors of this disease etiology, to develop the effective companies of the prevention, early diagnostics and adequate treatment and to improve the health of children in these countries.
