History of the Department, Foundation and Evolution of the Department

Department of medical computer science with physics and a special
equipment (the initial name Department of physics) organized in July, 1957. It
occupied 5 rooms on the second floor of the then administrative corpus of
medical academy (now the biological corpus). By the first Head of Department the
ass. professor , and later - professor Semen Shamraevsky has been appointed.
Into state of Department entered five employees: two teachers, two laboratories
and the laboratory assistant. The first teachers of Department became George
Lipov and Olga Bivshuk. Students carried out only 4 laboratory works.
With 1964 on 1972 the Department was located on a ground floor of the
then physiological case (nowadays the administrative case). With 1972 on 1998 it
was on 1-st a floor of the biological case and occupied 9 rooms.
There were created 4 educational physical laboratories. With the purpose of improvement of
teaching of bases of medical computer science in 1992 employees of Department
one of the first in Ukraine have created the computer laboratories equipped
'Personal computer - 01' (Lvov), later - 'ZX-Spectrum'. In 1995 the laboratory
on a basis of more perfect domestic personal computers 'Poisk - 1' ? 'Poisk - 2'
has been created computer.
Reorganization of Department of physics has taken place in May, 1998. On
its basis there was a created Department of medical computer science with
physics and a special equipment. On September, 1, 1998 the Department has met in
the new educational case along the street Chehova, 3. At its order there are 17
rooms. It is created 3 physical and 4 computer educational laboratories. 40
modern personal computers are involved in educational process and means of a
seal. In one of laboratories openly computer center in which in out class time
employees and students of medical academy can solve individual problems use of
computer facilities. In the long term - connect to world information network
Internet.
Professor Semen Shamraevsky headed Department of physics with 1957 on
1970. Was born on Poltava region in 1899. In 1925 has graduated Kharkov medical
university, and in 1933 - Kharkov physical-chemistry-mathematical institutes.
Has received specialties: the physician, the physicist - researcher, the teacher
for high schools. Became the creator of a new scientific direction in electro
surgery. For the first time has developed a set of bioactive electrodes which
used for operative interventions in a regional oncological clinic.
With 1970 on 1974 the collective of Department headed ass. prof
Valentine Portnov. Employees recollect him as the kind business executive, the
teacher, the meticulous science officer. Under his initiative on a
self-supporting basis in a basement of the biological case there was organized
scientific laboratory and the mounted high-voltage digit device. With his use
carrying out intensive researches concerning studying influence of electric
categories of a high voltage on yeast and other microorganisms.
Ass. prof. Physical and mathematical sciences Igor Goncharenko worked as
the Head of Department with 1975 on 1980. Has worked hard for improvement of
methodical work on Department. For the first time has organized release of
methodical instructions from bases of higher mathematics and a laboratory
practical work from physics. Developed and has organized manufacturing visual
aids from different sections of physics.
Ass. prof. Anatoly Gajduk during stay on a post of the Head of Department
(1980-1991) was engaged in improvement of methodical maintenance of educational
process. The laboratory for demonstration of educational films was equipped,
automation of the control of knowledge of students is introduced. Scientific
interests covered astronomical researches.
Ass. prof. Moskal Denis Mikolaevich headed Department with 1991 - 1998
year. Under his management significant modernization of a laboratory practical
work from the physics, the issued methodical instructions for students from
bases of higher mathematics, from a laboratory practical work has taken place.
Has taken place reequipment of Department by new medical devices, it has been
equipped two computer laboratories. Scientific work on Department became more
active. Scientific attitudes with clinical faculties were adjusted. With
Department therapy general scientific work on a theme 'Development of the
differentiated medicamentous and physical methods of therapy and preventive
maintenance of degenerate - dystrophic and inflammatory diseases of joints' was
carried out. Her further development lasts and at present. Besides researches
electro physical properties plasts structures proceeded on the basis of
institute of semiconductors NAN of Ukraine. Results of researches entered on the
different electronic enterprises of Ukraine also have underlain Denis Moskalja's
thesis for a doctor's degree. Behind a theme of the dissertation the competitor
has published over 50 scientific works, has received 2 copyright certificates on
inventions.
In 1998 after reorganization of Department by the Head have appointed
the senior scientific employee, Ass. professor, the pupil of high school, -
Arsen Guduma.
Under his management the new curriculum on medical computer
science according to which studying of a subject occurs during 6 years of
training has been developed, bases of work on personal computers, and also
modern technologies of processing of the medical and biologic information are
taught. In 2001 Arsen Guduma has protected the thesis for a doctor's degree. Has
published over 60 scientific works, has received 2 patents.
On Department during 1957-1998 teachers worked: Stanislav Kornatovsky,
Myron Jmko (nowadays the Head of Department Ternopil technical university),
Maria Glytska, Alina Sobol, Michael Jacque, Vsevolod and Larissa Golubovsky,
senior laboratorian Klavdija Kudina, laboratorians: Peter Luchko, Michael
Scherbak, Jaroslav Balitsky, Elvira Ayropetova, Lyudmila Babich, Roman Kvik,
Victor Voronin, Anatoly Voronenko, Rostuslav Kupcevuch, Victor Kulchitsky. All
of them have carried out a significant payment in the organization and carrying
out of teaching-methodical and scientific work of Department. Among scientific
works of the last years it is necessary to note the following themes 'Uses
Bioactive electrodes in electro surgery' (prof. Semen Shamraevsky, Michael
Jacque, 1960-1964), 'Influence of electromagnetic fluctuations (UHF) on the
nervous - muscular tissue' (George Lipov, 1962), 'Measurement of a blood
pressure at experimental animals a photo-electric method' (George Lipov, 1964),
'Influence X-rays forces on physical and chemical parameters of bile' (George
Lipov, Olga Bivshuk, 1972-1975), 'Influence of magnetic fields on biological
objects' (Stanislav Kornatovsky, Myron Jmko 1970-1975) and other. Performance
of these themes has come to the end with a number of introductions in
educational process and practice of public health services: 'the Bioactive
method in surgery' (1960-1970); 'Installation for magneto therapy' (1974).
Scientific has ouched faculties all years of activity makes 19
copyright certificates for inventions, 2 patents, 200 scientific articles are
close. 3 textbook, 10 tutorials for students from a rate of medical and
biological physics, mathematics and computer science are given. In cultural life
of faculties also Valery's Diduh poetic collections 'Quantums of ideas', 'the
Spectrum of ideas' and 'the Echo of ideas' and Roman Ladiki 'Poetry'
In 2001 Department has headed then the ass. professor , the candidate
physical - mathematical sciences, and today the professor, Dr.Sci.Tech.
Martsenyuk Vasyl Petrovych.
Under his management are prepared: 'Medical
computer science. A training rate', 'Medical computer science. Designing and
uses of databases', 'Medical computer science. Tool and expert systems','
Medical computer science. Methods of the system analysis', 'the Basis of
higher mathematics. The computerized rate', is prepared 2 English-speaking
monographers, 2-volume the textbook for English-speaking students, the carried
out connection of Department to a network the Internet is equipped one more
computer laboratory. In 2005 Martsenyuk Vasyl Petrovych has protected doctor's
the dissertation 'Models and methods population dynamics in the program
environment of support of system medical researches' which was carried out also
on the basis of Department of the system analysis and the theory of
decision-making of Department of cybernetics Kiev national university by him.
Behind a theme of the dissertation it is published more than 100 scientific
works, 4 copyright certificates on computer programs are received.
