          Department Pediatrics of established in September 1959 In 1970 the department was headed k.med. doc. D.I. of Ukraine, MD I.S. Smiyan, 2003-2004 - k.med. Loboda, from September 2004 to July 2005 - k.med. Sciences doc. G.A. Pavlyshyn. In 1998 was founded Propaedeutics childhood diseases, which led Dr. of Medical Science, Professor. O.Ye. Fedortsiv. In July 2005 the Department of Pediatrics, which was merged with the Propaedeutics childhood diseases, headed by prof. O.Ye Fedortsiv. Peculiarity of the work of the department are inextricably linked science and practice every day, they combine the teachers, doctors and scientists.

    Education Department

          Theoretical and practical knowledge to students receiving Pediatrics II-VI courses of medical and pharmaceutical faculties IV course. Students study such subjects: propaedeutic, Faculty, Hospital pediatrics courses of medical genetics, pediatric infections and pediatric surgery, selective course Nutrition. The staff of the department is constantly developing progressive methods of teaching. Published 12 teaching manuals and textbooks, including 'Practical pediatrics, Faculty pediatrics, Hospital pediatrics, Pediatrics (series lectures)', Features i semiotics diseases of children age, Medical Genetics, Children infectology, Pediatrics in the situational problems, active vaccine, 'Algorithms and practical skills in pediatrics', 'Manual of propaedeutic pediatrics'; 40 methodical recommendations.     Research interests of department staff

          Research work of the department of environment pathological factors impact on the health of children is aimed at:

    • installation of modern trends in the health of children of different region and features aged groups factors that his form the output equation depending on the health from them;
    • determine the relationship between the components of health, equal basic marker homeostasis child organism indicators immunological reactivity, mineral exchange, intestine biocenosis and lipids peroxidation socio - environmental and living conditions;
    • development of comprehensive criteria for evaluating and monitoring the health of children in areas with different socio - environmental conditions;
    • anthropometrical creation of regional standards;
    • Evaluation of features of actual nutrition of children of critical groups (first year of life, primary school, adolescence), his relationship with the formation of common childhood diseases;
    • proceedings methods of food and drug correction of errors of food;
    • development of new prevention technologies to improve the adaptive capacities of children to adverse factors, natural and social environment;
    • establishing clinical - diagnostic criteria dyzadaptation children, a program of forecasting health disorders, taking into account the impact environment pathological and health - social factors;
    • formation of differentiated preventive - rehabilitation for children with different risk groups;
    • Organization of health - social and psychological assistance;
    • study of mechanisms basic systems of organism adaptation to environmental conditions, which constantly chandged, influence the nature of food on children's health in the postnatal period of ontogenesis, risk factors, which determine the development of level of social integration in critical age periods;
    • improving methods of diagnosis, treatment and preventive osteoporosis in children with various somatic Pathology, development of methods of correction of detected changes.
    The Department annually held scientific conferences on environment pathological factors in childhood.

    The main scientific achievements of the department

    • A new concept of etyophatogenezis of chronic disorders power in children, proposed a new approach to preventive treatment ; efficiency enterosorbentiv studied separately and in combination with bacterial preparations imunostymulator and antioxidants in chronic nutrition disorders, infectious diarrhea in children of early age.
